Elton Haxhi

Elton is one of the founders of the firm and led it from 2009 to 2017. He re-joined Nexia Albania as CEO in 2022. He has more than 25 years of experience in audit, tax, business advisory and public financial management, and has led national initiatives in public finance such as IPSAS, MTRS, FATF/Moneyval, EU integration and OECD.
Background & memberships
He has been a member of the Institute of Authorized Chartered Accountants of Albania (IEKA) since 2001. He was a member of the Public Oversight Board (2009–2013) and of the National Tax Council (2014–2017), and Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy from 2017 to 2020. Before founding the firm he spent seven years with KPMG and Ernst & Young in Albania and Moscow.

Orjana Kalaja, FCCA

Orjana joined Nexia Albania in 2017 and is CEO and a Partner of the firm. She has more than 20 years of experience in external and internal auditing and other financial services, providing audit and financial advisory services to large clients in the private and public sector, including banks and other financial institutions, telecommunications, manufacturing and trading.
Background & memberships
She has been a member of ACCA (FCCA) in the UK since 2011 and of IEKA since 2012, sits on the Review Committee of IFRS translation at the National Accounting Council (since October 2018) and is an Audit Committee Member of United Bank of Albania (since March 2021). Before joining the firm she spent nine years with KPMG, PwC and Deloitte in Albania, Bulgaria and Kosovo, and three years as director of internal audit for a bank in Albania.

Gerond Begolli

Gerond joined Nexia Albania in 2014 and is a Partner in the Tax and Advisory department. He has more than 15 years of experience in tax, accounting and financial reporting, serving local private enterprises and leading international corporations in manufacturing, trading, professional services, telecommunications, construction and mining. His work covers direct and indirect tax compliance, tax advice, tax due diligence, international taxation and expatriate services.
Background & memberships
He holds a BA (Hons) in Accounting and Finance from the University of Tirana, has been registered with IEKA (member of IFAC) since 2018 in the public register of passive members, and is a member of the Tax and Customs Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham). Before joining the firm he worked at PwC Albania.

Kreshnik Hodaj, ACCA

Kreshnik joined Nexia Albania in 2018 and works in Audit & Assurance Services. He has more than 10 years of experience in external auditing and other financial services, for large clients in telecommunications, banking, insurance, healthcare, non-governmental organisations and the public sector.
Background & memberships
He graduated in Management and Finance from the University of Calabria, Italy, and is a member of ACCA, UK. Before joining the firm he worked with PwC in Albania and Slovakia.
